For the last year, I’ve been speaking with our customers and prospects — founders, CHROs, and People Ops leaders — about their EOR experiences. And while they love the talent they find in places like Brazil, Poland, or Vietnam, they universally struggle with the "Frankenstein" process of onboarding them.

They told me stories about disjointed tech stacks: broken or even shallow promises of "self-service" from multiple vendors for different countries, outsourced support centers, and processes that take weeks.

That hit me hard. We realized that focusing strictly on "compliance" had created a lesser experience for international employees. We were solving the legal problem, but we were ignoring the human one. Compliance will always be our #1 priority. We view it as table stakes in global employment, but it’s just the starting point. 

So, we decided to fast-track our vision for the future of work. We took the compliance shield we’ve spent years fortifying, and built an entirely new, seamless global employment experience on top of it.

The "messy middle": The tradeoff between speed and compliance

Before we started building this update, we analyzed the friction points in the traditional EOR model. It wasn't just that the tools were slow; it was that they forced customers into an impossible tradeoff.
